The Easter Parade
going full out for Spring's high holiday, because I need it that way
Maybe it’s an every four years thing, but winter 2025 felt grey, dull and divisive. As the sun breaks in today, I’m ready to scrub it all and make spring the official fresh start to the year.
This year, Heidi will be out of town on Easter Sunday, a logistical tradeoff I made for all the peaceful, happy holidays we’ve had lately. This new set up is has its dealings, and I will have a healthy plan in place to handle the phone portraits of prettily dressed children in front of floral church crosses posted in real time as proof of the morning’s survival. But overall, I am enjoying how these holidays become seasons in the new arrangement. I get the decorations up and little earlier and enjoy it more in the day to day, not focusing on one big calendar event.
I’m working this week to make the house feel like a spring haven when we return from Spring Break next Sunday. I’m doing some clean outs, organizing, getting into the windows a little more and, of course, a bit of shopping. Maybe it’s having an older girl now that makes me love sweet spring things so much, as I feel like I never know when interest will wane at my house and we’ll just be too cool for it all (never, please!).
If you’re getting ready for the big events, here are some Easter faves I’ve found online lately.
Easter Basket Finds for Creative Kids
Easter says all the wonderful things like renewal, forgiveness and eternity, plus spring is here and summer’s on the way! I love a basket with little delights that could be used well into the summer months if possible. I’m not for expensive or much for junky either, but I feel these cute finds are neither of those.
I am not a total sugar freak (yeah, right), but I love something that’s both sweet and memorable if possible, like this precious white chocolate lamb or Melody Pops - I have so many videos of my family blowing Whistle Pops and giggling. The little face on this rabbit cotton candy is so precious, I love it popping out of a pretty rattan basket (or a silly snail!).
I love to sneak in something with pages if I can. This joke book we bought when Heidi was a toddler is a huge family tradition now - little ones like to hear them, young readers love to tell them and the older kids love to laugh and groan. We also love Hidden Pictures at all ages in our home, and I can think of a million places to stick these bug stickers. Dork that I am, I loved something like this Life Skills Book for Teens at that age.
I love anything that promotes music, dancing and time outside. At home we keep all these ribbon dancers in a jar by the front door, and I’ve always loved an egg shaker for getting a beat going with all types of kids, and nothing is cuter than turning the music on and throwing down this classic colored egg race. This little xylophone makes me want to do that stage all over again. These funny dog tubes even make noise when you play with them.
I am shopping for an older girl of 11 this year, and I love this beautiful brush for upcoming trips, a fun flower puncher she could use for Mother’s Day gifties, a sweet macrame bag, summery hair clips she can share with her younger cousin or a little glow up for her room (pun intended!) and some tween-inspired polaroid paper for her Instax.

Fun Easter Finds for Grown Ups
Easter isn’t just for kids! My Mom hosts a beautiful day each year that I never want to come empty handed to, I love seeing friends, plus I am always seeming to find a few things for myself!
To be honest, most of my splurges are before the basket. I admit to being an all-out cabbage leaf lover, and find these nesting bowls to look far more sophisticated than their price, and the bunny under this little $12 dish is too cute, paired so well with this all white bunny cake tray. Just add pops of spring cutesy all over the house with these paper bunny eggs for your Easter Tree or some paper tulips on the front console. A paper cracker at every plate is mandatory at all of our meals, and I love both these bunny and floral options. I’d lay one each on these sweet bunny plates and try to get these bunny cheese knives as close to that as possible. Of course, it all starts with the doormat!
For the adults I love, there’s this sweet Beatrix Potter tea tin and for my cool friends (Stan) I never knock a puzzle. I keep notebooks around for everything from grocery lists to passing deep thoughts, and it’s so much nicer when they’re pretty. I love sitting around the table on Easter trying all of the novelty candy like these Tajin gummy bears or gummy eggs like Heidi and I loved to buy on trips to France. I can never pass on Tony’s or any way to get more of my favorite jam.
What’s on your Easter list? If you want to see even more, I have it on my LTK page!
