At Camp Crafty, I have my tried and true parties I love to teach, and then I can spend all my time online finding and getting excited about the next trends. I’ve loved the lipgloss charm trend and was so excited that a favorite client reached out about using it spoil a cute group of girls headed to their first dance.
Charmed-up tubes of shiny lip gloss with glittery little purses - I can’t!
When I see a craft like this, I love breaking it down into not only how I would do it at home, but how we might make it accessible and fun for a group of any age.
To start, I ordered these lip gloss tubes that have the same sealed top as the much more expensive name brands. The trick was the tiny hole punch I found that lets me make a hole in the corner of the top of the tube that’s just big enough to get a circle coupler from the hardware through.
While the circle bit is open, I looped through the lobster clasp that came in the hardware box I ordered. If I wanted to add some small gold charms, I added some from this cute assortment directly to the hardware using another circle coupler and a pair of needle nose pliers.
Then it’s time for beads! I cut one longer strand of .8 mm rat tail cord and looped it through the hardware to become two separate strands. Now I do go to all the ends of the Earth looking for our signature beads for our arts and crafts birthday parties, but I love these rainbow letter beads and peace sign beads you can add to your order!
Just tie a nice double knot at the end of each strand and trim, and your charmed up lip gloss should be coming together! It is that easy.
Why not add one to your bag, impress your tween or dress up a birthday gift for a friend with this easy, fun craft? Let me know if you try it!
